All Growed Up

So, it’s happened.  Four months after graduating from college with a B.S.   In a little more a week I will suit up with shiny shoes and a perfect tie and begin my first day working for local government.  Which is precisely what I wanted to do, I’m actually kinda surprised it only took me four months.  Score :)

Virginia’s Day of Mourning

Anything I can say in regards to Virginia’s Day of Mourning for the VT wounded and dead is woefully inadequate.  Today I went to work, wore a pin, wore maroon, and observed the silence by myself at 12 noon.

I and my Radford friends and fellow Alumni are fully behind and supportive of our friends and family at Tech.

Here is a link to an RU page showing how Radford supported and remembered those at Tech today.

Virginia Tech 3

For my last VT post I won’t say much.  Rather I will link to a letter addressed to the Radford University community from the school’s president, Penelope W. Kyle.  It shows how much we care for and about Tech, and actually I learned that RU used to literally be a part of VT until it broke off and went co-ed.

Virginia Tech 2

Luckily everyone I know at VT is ok, however a close friends knows two of the injured and a friend of the injured knows at least one of the dead.

Everyone I know at VT and RU are still in shock over this.  Most everyone at RU knows someone at VT who is affected by these horrific events.  As I said before the two schools and their students bodies are very close to one another.

Also as I said before, now that the worst is over, hopefully the best possible outcomes for all of the survivors and for VT will now occur.

Tech

I went to RU, which is around 10 mins from VA Tech.  VA Tech and RU share a lot of programs and social events, kinda like Tech is RU’s big bro.

So all this stuff at Tech is so very sad and just wrong.  I hope it ends as well as it can.
